Peace Is Not Avoidance

Session reflection · 2026 Rain Retreat

Pausing helps us return to life more clearly. It does not mean ignoring a problem that still needs to be resolved.

Observe the pattern before reacting. Sometimes patience is wise. Sometimes a repeated pattern needs to be gently addressed.

A peaceful boundary can benefit both people. We cannot force another person to change, but we can choose a response that reduces suffering.

A simple practice

  1. Pause and allow the body and mind to settle.
  2. Recognize what is actually happening and whether there is a repeated pattern.
  3. Consider a gentle, clear boundary that protects peace without anger.
  4. Return to the situation with patience and understanding.
